Background

Under the leadership of the Department of Nutrition for Health and Development (NHD), the World Health Organization (WHO) has developed a comprehensive nutrition strategy, Ambition and Action in Nutrition 2016-2025, to focus efforts in meeting the priorities set forth by the UN General Assembly, the World Health Assembly, the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The strategy provides a focused direction that will allow WHO to efficiently, effectively and successfully meet the targets set forth in this UN Decade of Action on Nutrition (2016-2025).

On the basis of this strategy, WHO, in partnership with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), developed the 3-hour e-learning course Ambition and Action in Nutrition 2016-2025.
